SOME PUSSY

1988

One day I took a large picture book of cats to the local print shop, with pages marked, and asked the clerk to make a bunch of black and white xeroxes. This is before color copiers or digital printers, not to mention home computers! I cut and collaged them, added press-type captions, and mounted them under glass with a taped edge, all 5 7/8 x 4 3/4 inches. I first showed them in Group Material's iconic Democracy , at Dia, in 1989. The less-than-archival materials have discolored over time, but for the sake of authenticity these images below are how they look today, decades later. But for the sake of longevity, in 2024 I made reasonable facsimiles with the improved materials, pictured as a series in the black shelf below.
